The New Barn Field Centre, in which the principles of model making are used, is an educational centre.

The children can spend from one day to a couple of weeks time in the buildings of the New Barn Field Centre and experience many activities linked with the landscape and the human interaction with it across the centuries.
Among those, the (re)construction of an iron age roundhouse is the place to experience life in the iron age. Other live interpretation programmes are available for different periods, such as the romans or the vikings.
Along with this, the centre provides activities such as pottery making, woodworking and harvesting, animal farming and special activities on the coastal area or on river and ponds.
