Nicholas Dixon

I am a Director and founder member of the Scottish Trust for Underwater Archaeology which was formed in 1989 to promote and develop underwater archaeology in Scotland and beyond. My special interest is the loch dwellings (crannogs) of Scotland which I study through survey and excavation. My underwater research has developed into experimental archaeology and the results are portrayed in the Scottish Crannog Centre where I am responsible for all aspects of the displays and the methods of presentation. I am also involved in the educational development of the subject as a Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.
