HAEMUS endorses historical and archaeological research, exploration, education, popularization, promotion and management of the cultural heritage of the Balkan Peninsula as a mutual benefit from the past.

ХАЕМУС - Центар за научни истражувања и промоција на култура

The main and primary goal of Haemus is scientific and scholar research in the fields of archaeology, history, culture and art. Particular attention is paid to the dissemination of the cultural heritage of Macedonia and the Balkans through publication of expert and popular books, brochures, ancillary works, catalogues and maps with the aim of introducing archaeology, history and common culture to the professional and public media in an accurate and truthful manner. We also provide advice and assistance in the creation of audio-visual materials, such as audio-guides, documentaries, videos and other promotional material relating to cultural heritage.

Education is an area that HAEMUS deals with from the beginning of its existence. We aim to arrange and bring together different types of educational activities. Depending on the structure and extent of the events, they can be organized as lectures, workshops, seminars or conferences.

We manage official UNESCO club HAEMUS with different activities. We organize educational tours and public lectures under the OER (Open Educational Resources) motto in accordance with the UNESCO policy for OER and we share the video on the internet.

HAEMUS Journal
Annually we publish HAEMUS Journal, a peer reviewed open access academic e-journal for the history and archaeology of the Balkan Peninsula (ISSN 1857- 8411). The aim of the journal, which is based on the principles of OER and Creative Commons licenses – is to gather and present the latest developments in the historiography and archaeological research of the Balkans, both in terms of methodology and in terms of content. The content of the journal is based on purely academic research, with an editorial board consisting of scholars from highly prestigious international institutions.
