In the heart of Central Italy there is an ancient land once known with the name of “Etruria” where you can make a real journey through centuries.
In this pristine landscape dominated only by nature is located Antiquitates, an Archaeological Education Park, a Research Centre for Experimental Archaeology, but also a warm and cozy Guest House where spending a relaxing holiday dedicated to nature, equitation and archeology.

The Centre starts its activities in 1988 in Civitella Cesi of Blera experimenting Villanovan and Etruscan forms of daily life (IX - VIII century B.C.). The long experience of teaching and scientific research has enabled the creation of many reconstructions relating to this period, such as a villanovan huts equipped to give accommodation during school-camps, or many others etruscan artefacts.
Successively the research invested many other historical periods so that in the Park is possible to admire also the reconstruction of a Neolithic hut and two wooden pirogues inspired by the archaeological finds of the 8000 BP village “La Marmotta” (Anguillara Sabazia, Rome – IT).
The educational activities of the Centre are characterized by many reconstructions and workshops dedicated to different periods, from Paleolithic to Early Middle Ages.
On the other hand Antiquitates is also a Research Centre for Experimental Archaeology and by the academic point of view it carried out various restitutions, especially in the archaeometallurgical field.
The Centre has maintained partnerships with different Italian Universities and Archaeological Superintendancies, in collaboration with it set up various events, workshops, manifestations and exhibitions.
Antiquitates is official partner of CNR (Italian National Research Council, Rome) in the Italian Archaeological Mission in Cyprus (early/middle bronze age settlement in Pyrgos-Mavroraki, Limassol - CY) dealing with all experimental restitutions (archaeometallurgy, pottery, perfumes and cosmetics, textiles..etc.).
Antiquitates supports students and young scholars who wish to carry on a research in experimental archaeology, offering a functional tutor-service.
An International Conference on Experimental Archaeology is held in the Centre since 2003.
