Visit to Kernave, Lithuania

EXARC recently visited the State Cultural Reserve of Kernave, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2004 and also long-time member of EXARC. Kernave is the location of an early centre of power in Lithuania and has excellently preserved material from the 13th and 14th century. Over the past decade, a lot of effort was made to present this well, not only with a very well done indoor museum but also with a recently added reconstructed village. We thank Saulius Vadisis and his team for a warm welcome and lengthy explanation of the archaeology and the museum of Kernave.
